WORKING WITH 3D AND SPATIAL ANALYST

What is Spatial Analyst?

Spatial Data Analysis is depentent on Geographic information to understand and analyze data. With a geographic understanding, we explore possibilites like:

Where – where are my assets? Customers? Competitors?

Measure – how long, how tall, how much

Spatial Analysis – how many people are within 100m of a road?

Finding best locations - where I can open my shops?

Detecting and quantifying patterns – where is the hotspot for crime? where are the customers that spend the most on electronics? .

can i make it?
This course is for those who want to learn how to use ArcGIS Desktop applications to conduct raster-based analysis, conversion, and editing.

What skills will I learn?

  • Learn the ArcGIS Spatial Analyst interface, including environment settings
  • Convert data to raster formats and investigate raster data storage design
  • Learn many of the map algebra and raster tools and functions
  • Use ArcGIS Spatial Analyst for distance modelling

Are there any prerequisites?
Completion of either Desktop II Tools and Functionality or Desktop III Workflows and Analysis or equivalent experience is required. Programming knowledge is not necessary. Participants in this course should know the following:

  • Basic operating system skills (copying, deleting, and moving files and directories);
  • Adding, renaming, and deleting themes;
  • Setting data frame properties (map and distance units, projection);
